M.Tech in Production And Industrial Engineering

M.Tech. in Production and Industrial Engineering is a 2-year postgraduate course in engineering with a specialization in the domain of production and industrial engineering and related aspects. A minimum of 55% (relaxable for reserved category candidates) marks at UG level is the least that almost all the institutes desire from applying candidates as the eligibility criterion. The fee for the course varies between INR 65,000 to 3,35,000 in India.

M.Tech in Production and Industrial engineering admissions are done based on the Common Entrance Test (CET) based selection method as well as merit-based selection criteria that is the percentage of marks obtained at Under Graduate (UG) level. Most of the colleges that provide admissions through CET mechanism rely on the score of All India level common entrance exams like GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test for Engineering), IIIT-B, DTU M.Tech entrance exam, while a select few opt for a separate entrance exam of their own (Like NSIT).

M.Tech in Production and Industrial Engineering postgraduates have a wide range of job opportunities like Plant engineer, Quality engineer, Industrial Manager, Process Engineer, Operation analyst etc. After completion of post-graduation, one may pursue further studies like M.Phil and Ph.D. in the said subject or may take up job opportunities. The average salary ranges between INR 15,000 and 20,000 a month for a fresh pass out.

M.Tech in Production And Industrial Engineering What is it about

The word production and industry go hand in hand. Industries are indulged in maximizing their production potential and efficiency with available resources in a sustainable and effective manner.

To raise productivity without indulging in expensive machinery the industry requires a trained, qualified, and analytical manpower that accomplishes the task without any hassle.  Manpower that is sound technically and academically is what is desired by industry owners.

M.Tech. course in Production and Industrial Engineering as a specialization of Industrial engineering aims at shaping the manpower that is required out there in the job market. It grants a holistic domain view through practical-based and gradual course structure to the Master’s level students so, as to let them grasp the concepts and skills with ease.

Eligibility Criteria of M.Tech in Production & Industrial Engineering

Candidate must have passed the B.E/B.Tech or equivalent examination in the respective stream from a recognized state/private/deemed or central University with at least 55% (relaxable for reserved category candidates) of the marks at graduation level.

He/She shall not have any backlog or compartments in any of the Subjects/Subjects at B.E/B.Tech level that is yet to be cleared at the time of taking admissions.
